Wow, something from the time of Dinosaurs

  1. It looks prickly from this close, but maybe it's not really?

I bet you could get some really good (creepy) macro insect shots.

    1. No-no, it's moss. It's as soft as you could get here.

And Yep, that's the goal. Odd views of things :-)

  2. That's crazy. I was thinking prickly too, would have never guessed moss. Really interesting shot.

    1. I was a bit amazed myself when the spikes came out on the PC screen too. It's the very last shape you'd expect from moss.

  3. Ditto the comments about not expecting it to be moss. Really neat photograph!

  4. A lot of fun. Kind of creepy, especially with that pink...almost looks ALIVE. :)
This is with the macro lens?

    1. Yeah, creepy. I remember before all the CGI in films when things like this would provide the wherewithal for a chase by a tooth filled monster who wanted to pop the 7/8th naked muscle bound guy (eye candy for the girls&some guys) and the titty Teutonic totty ( eye candy for guys&some girls) like a pair of ripe grapes.

      Yep, the macro :-)

  5. I guess I didn't think to ask but was that with your new cell phone macro lens or your DSLR? If it is the former than I REALLY impressed!

    1. Yep, cellphone. But it really is the only lense that truly works out of the 3 I got. A wide angle on a 5 mpix jpeg is rubbish, as is the fisheye. .
