And it probably would've been as bloody in it's own way. But the proximate cause was the killing of Franz-Ferdinand in Bosnia by a Serb. <br />Thins is if F-F wasn't in a car that went down a wrong road requiring it to reverse the killer wouldn't have the shot. <br />You see what made WW1 so bloody was it was a return to siege warfare and was the tech a few year on, the armies wouldn't have been far more mobile.
