I found this lady on the side of the road and I find it incomparably sad.

I had her in my exhibition last year. The same but a different angle.

  1. We've found numerous child related items along the roadways over the years. I guess that is what happens when parents are driving with the windows down and junior gets bored. I remember years ago is used to be cassette tapes with their ribbons blowing in the breeze. Times have certainly changed.

    1. Yeah you can kinda see the reason for the tape. Round here anyways it was probably Country and Western with Irish singers with incredible accuracy nailing ' Some polecat done me wroooong', and should've been rolled over a few dozen times to prevent it ever been heard by the innocent.

  2. I agree with you - it does evoke a feeling of sadness. Makes me long to know its story...

    1. With all the families that moved away in the last number of years, amounting to 100,000's of people. Many of them families. I saw this lady as one well loved toy, but replaced with a newer of a girl now in Red Deer, Alberta.

  3. At once sad and a bit creepy. Doll heads can be a bit scary.

    1. Yeah, I was wondering about the creepiness too. But I think that the very age of the toy changes that aspect.
