An Irish Sunset

  1. Looks more like a sunrise photo with the fog (I assume) in the background. Beautiful!

    1. No it's not fog. It's the result of getting the sun unblown and so the light below becomes a bit white.

  2. I agree, the fog would have made me guess sunrise. It's so yellow! Is that straight out of the camera? It's quite lovely.

Good to see this - I was just thinking this morning how we hadn't seen anything from you in awhile. Any more exhibits/shows lined up for the future?

    1. Yes, pretty much. Our sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular. We were noted for it in the Victorian era when we had painters and water colourists from all over came here.
After a volcanic eruption we get great ones, like after that Icelandic one a few years ago.

Nope. Well I'm pputting in to the RHA show, but I'm not expecting much.

  3. Oh, I've missed those sunsets! Just beautiful.
Is the area a park? I see benches...I think.

    1. Oddly enough there's a National Park over my right shoulder, but that isn't. It's farmland, with fencing dividing the fields.

I was thinking afterwards about the Victorian era sunsets, and I remembered Vesuvius was blasting away every few years until she really let go in 1906.

  4. This is breathtaking! My wife gave recently gave me a list of possible vacation spots for fall 2017 and Ireland is one of them. This might persuade me!
