Trying macros.

  1. The bee in the flower and the last shot show good use of a macro. Nice control of the background in that last shot.

    1. The flower with the bee is the rose Iceberg. And the last one is a weed along the roadway that for the life of me I can't remember its name.

  2. Awww... sweet Jess. :)

Some of these are really nice. I like the sunflowers (and the white flower with the insects) and I just now noticed the wee spider in the bottom photo!

    1. That's actually the best shot I've got of her this year.

The big sunflower is a crop of the other one. I thought the camera took quite a bit of details. And I'd only seen the spider when I opened the files in the PC. I hadn't seen it when I was taking the shot.

  3. I started to write this last night when I got home from work and woke up in the middle of the night with the computer still in my lap but my head on the pillow to my side. So let me try again...
Of course Jessy is my favorite. :) The sunflower is gorgeous, both cropped and not. The purple flowers are stunning. Are those out all the time or is this just their season?
What are we looking at in the 3rd to last photo?

    1. My bicycle. More exactly the front wheel and lefthand side axel. I thought to combine a few artistic genera :-).
I have a new lense that I got a few weeks ago. I have a big event coming up on National Culture Night on the 22nd. I'm calling it Portraits100. And I'll be making maybe and printing images on the night. I was going to go for A3 but when I priced out that size it made no sense. So I'm doing A4 prints for free, with a paid option for signed A3's.
But I have a new 85mm manual lense that has lovely rendering.

  4. Excellent pictures as always. I really like the ones of Jess and the bee. With subjects that are rarely still, I know how hard it is to get quality photographs of them.
