Yes, i agree with Kelly. That top photo is really nice. I bet it's beautiful in person and have the mountains covered with it. The bottom was is really interesting. It's almost liquid looking. I thought, at first, I might be looking at a reflection with the bottom half. It also looks a bit wintery. When you do black and white, do you shoot it via the camera or adjust the color when editing? I'm assuming the latter, but maybe not.
The heathers are tiny. I was on my belly to get that one. What happens is you look at the mountain one day and think wow, you weren't that colour yesterday. And entire slopes are a purple haze.
I couldn't have done as I did with that one without the pen-tablet. I simply wouldn't have control. I was going for something compelling, and a bit disturbing. The familiar and a hint od danger.
Oooo, I'm really loving that top photo!
ReplyDeleteThe second has an almost surreal feeling about it. Very nice.
Thank you. The mountains are covered with that colour these days.
DeleteThat second one is my take on an image by the American photographer of the West, and friend to Georgia O'Keeffe, Ansil Adams.
