Moon11

This is a composite of 10 photos stacked to give better sharpness.

  1. I've never heard of that technique. I'm going to have to read up on it.

  2. Well I have read up on it and know more than I did. I know that I don't have the software to do this. Much of what I read applies to macro photos though I found a few forums of people discussing stacking photos of the moon specifically. Interesting stuff.

    1. It's a programme built by astro-nerds. It's how they sharpen a nebula. The programme ID's the as many as it can and stacks the photos one on top of the other.
For instance that shot above was in no way as sharp. Granted it's flawed, if little definition it won't stack.

  3. I love photos of the moon. (more than the real thing since it disrupts my sleep) This is lovely.

  4. Yes, I've also seen this on my camera, but have never quite understood it. Whenever it's been tried, the composite looks worse than when I don't use it.
