Not black, broad daylight, but using a flash and a fast shutter to pull the tree out. This is what the Irish fighting stick was made from. The Shillelagh. If you ever see a St Patrick's day parade from New York the Fighting 69th is lead by an officer carrying one.
New themes on Blogger and given my flibbertigibbet nature to the design I thought twas time for a move. But tiz clunky, and I don't really like the interface, even though the clean lines are to my taste. I'll shift things back :-)
OK, new theme up that I think runs a bit sweeter. And thanks for the comment on the flowers. I'm always struck that such a delicate flower is at one end and the fighting stick the other.
This is lovely. Striking against the black background.

Deletenice shot!
DeleteThank you.
DeleteInteresting on the background - and I've heard of a Shillelagh, but had no idea it had pretty flowers like this on it!
DeleteLove it! It's quite an artistic shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it's just me/safari, but writing this comment is looking jumbled...I hope it comes out. :)

I was thinking the same thing! Such a sweet little flower vs. a fairly brutal looking (at least) stick.
DeleteBeautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed.
