The RHA wants three images. Well that's the limit they will accept. For the last few years I made my own frames and they didn't like what I was doing. So this year I bought frames. This is one.
The image is 42 cm by 30cm(16.5 inches by 12). With the frame 24 by 17 inches.
Is the actual photo in B&W or color? Either would be lovely, but have differing impact. I hope you'll share your other two entries, as well.
ReplyDeleteTwo B&W and one in colour. And I will. To be honest I forgot to photograph them before I'd them packed. A bit of an ops.
DeleteThey must be pretty selective as I really didn't have a problem with your homemade frames.
ReplyDeleteI spent a lot of time and money into them that's for certain. And I was trying to remove the Classical from the picture. Not everything has to have a Greek pilaster IMO.
DeleteI'm glad you came back and added the other two. I really do love that middle one!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I like it too. Well we'll see if the accept them. I put a price of €200 on them and the RHA takes 45% of that. And with the frame, then the printing and the petrol to drive them to Dublin, there really is no juice in them at all. But there you go, the life of an Irish artist. I really must start writing plays, or even novels. There's real dosh in them :-D.
DeleteI like all of them, but that first one is my favorite I think.
ReplyDeleteIs the forest in the last one the same forest with the snapped trees?
Yes,it is, but about two miles along the ridge. Yeah, we'll see if they get accepted though.
