App's and today's DIY build.

I had to make certain I had a rapid way to make 45degree cuts in case I lose my mind again and decide my images need frames..
But making that stand for my grinder was like going back to the instructions written before the Germans&Swedes got their hands on the genera. If I hadn't the picture on the box I'd not be able to finish it.

I was a bit shocked at just how far I walked in 15 days.

  1. I'm not sure that picture would've been much help either...at first glance it looked like you were putting the saw together, not just a stand. So many pieces! :)
The tracker is a bit addicting isn't it? Although, I've found that my activity is mostly similar from day to day, I still wear it daily and am pleasantly surprised when it's more than expected. 127 miles since March 1 for me. I find that it is actually motivating to do more.
Saw this on FB yesterday. It made me chuckle...

    1. That island is very near where my fathers people are from. And I can tell you there was a very very good reason why the people moved off the thing. Lovely an all as it is in summer and fine days it's still sitting in the Atlantic directly in the teeth of every storm and tempest. There are weeks when it's cut off. Yeah, all grand and romantic provided you are healthy as a horse but when a darn coast guard rescue helicopter can't set down and a burst appendix kills you it's a different story. Inishark's (Inish Ark) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inishark people moved for just that reason. That and the fact there was no living there at all.

    2. It's a stand for the angle grinder that I can set and just do 20/30/40 cuts exactly the same. Doing by hand for one is fine but I have to have 25-30 for the next exhibition in May.
But I'm really thinking that I shouldn't frame them at all but to attach them to card and velcro strip them to the wall. You see if I ditch the frame I can make the images bigger.
I spent €150 on the one picture for the RHA just to make the thing. And I now believe it would've been better to simply back it and make it even bigger.

    3. Yes, the framing is outrageous whether you do it yourself or have it done. Being able to do several of the same cuts is a definite plus, but I also like the idea of bigger photos. The large-sized photos are impressive.
Yes, that little island sounds "quaint" for lack of a better word, but definitely better for visiting than living I would imagine. Although, with only three students in the school, I might have to consider a move in the event of the "apocalypse". It'd be an easy gig. :)

  2. I'm usually fairly good at following instructions (unless, of course, the writer's first language is obviously not English), but a good photo or diagram is always welcome.

    1. Me too, when there are written guidelines. I'm not one of those that can't ask for directions. Mind you I can usually figure out what's what while I'm laying the stuff out on the floor. Always floor btw :-). But that schematic is the only guide.
