The elements on that wall.

  1. I think she's got a mirror! Or a lollipop! ;)
Would they be considered the right style for that time period? They're almost cartoonish.

    1. I'm fairly certain the wall is a composition and that it wasn't built that way in the start. These could be grave stones of knights. This place is English/Norman and so it's very unlikely they would've added anything Celtic. The only thing that might be a bit earlier is the Tau scene. Earlier than the building of the entire abbey that is.
And did you see the Phoenix over the bishop. Now that I didn't see myself until I cropped out the rest of them and isolated the bishop.

    2. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I think I just made it under the wire. If not, happy belated St. Patrick's Day! :)

  2. Never thought of them being gravestones but seeing them up close makes me think that is probably right.

    1. I'm using headstones loosely. More memorials, somewhat.

  3. Is that a phoenix or an angel above the bishop. It looks like it's swinging a thurible. I'm still trying to figure out the bottom shot. He's got feet like a hobbit! ;) And on the lower left, it looks like a pike eating an eel.

    1. Well yes, but look above on the right. Level with the top. The bird is piercing his breast.

  4. Are they bronze? I found your thought that they were English without Celtic influence

    1. No, these are carved limestone. Are you missing a bit from your statement.
