My image wasn't accepted at the RHA show. But it truth I was dealing with them to get going at it rather than any true expectation. And 'if you aren't in you can't win' too. So I have two solo shows and I'm putting in for a bursary to spend a month in Rome. And there might cross each other. So that'll be a headache if I get Rome.
I joined up with a group of artists in Galway. May work out.
BBQ is out and running for a week now. Wow, I forgot how good it can make a bit of meat.
What will you do in Rome? I have known a few Catholic priest who have spent 6 months to a year there (actually in the Vatican) and they have good experiences
ReplyDeleteIt a collaboration with a group of artists in Rome. And it sure a heck isn't in the Vatican. :-)
DeleteI'm sorry the photo wasn't accepted, but it sounds like you have plenty on your plate anyway. It's almost a given you'll get the Rome thing since it'll cause a conflict. ;)
ReplyDeleteI backed over the lid to my little grill so it no longer fits snugly - a requirement for using around my pack.
I had some news about the place that wasn't too good. It gives the impression of being open but it's an insiders forum. Still I don't really care. I wasnt expecting to have a piece up the first time I put one in. But I didn't make the thing half-heartedly, I devoted a month of work to it.
DeleteRome sounds fun! Will it be for photography or academics? I wish you luck on all accounts. It sounds like if all pans out it could be a headache, but being able to travel (imo) is worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be both. But primarily artistic.
DeleteAs you know I'm exploring emigration in terms of exclusion and the excluded. Their existence in that space on the edge of society. And I'm having the devils own job representing visually that which isn't there.
I have to have the Rome paperwork in by Monday. Yikes eh.
Look forward to hearing the outcome. You are obviously a gifted artist! Looks like the next few days will be busy, to say the least. Good luck!
