End of year update.

These last few months I've been researching the Trump extravaganza and should have a little something soon.

I'm on my time away from coffee. This is the first time I don't miss it, but it means I'm making 4 pints of chamomile tea of an evening and putting in in the fridge for the next day.

I've discovered Cetrine for allergies. Meah, nothing to write home about. But it does mean I can have a sense of smell for a bit more time.

I have two frozen lobster in the freezer for new years day. Small ones.

  1. I've not heard of Cetrine before. I'll have to look into it.
No coffee? I'm sorry. :) While I like tea, I've not been able to use it as a substitute for coffee. And it's been so cold here the last couple of weeks, I'm pretty much craving coffee all day long just to keep warm. Will you go back, or are you off the stuff for good now?
I'll keep my comments to myself about Trump as to not offend anyone, but I look forward to your thoughts - someone on the outside looking in at what is happening here. A less polarizing perspective might be refreshing.

    1. You may know it as Zirtek, but the generic is Citrizine hydrochloride.

yeah, I need to get off coffee for a while. It get a bit too much after a while. I was making to 9 cup jugs of Moka Express stovetop espresso maker, by two of a morning.
And I don't know, but not for a good while anyway.

And Hmm, I doubt many will like my take on Trump, it's a bit out of left field.

    2. Espresso cups are tiny though, aren't they? So nine is really only like three regular coffee cups :) Isn't it funny (not ha ha) how the caffeine addiction creeps up on ya. It's so painful to abstain from it, that once done why in the world would you want to go back, but I keep doing so, often worse than before - knowing the next restriction will be even worse.
Ah yes, we have Zirtek, but I don't believe I found it very effective. So far the Claritin is the only thing that has remotely helped with the sinus congestion.

    3. Oh yes, tiny. Actually I was feeling a bit ill when I stopped so wasn't that bad from the caffeine.
Yes, it really does get worse each time you go back to it. It really doesn't touch the sides until you have at least 5 cups.

Zirtek is a newer one. But out of patent too, so you can get it a bit cheaper.

  2. I also have an opinion on Trump, but like Kimberly will keep it to myself.

I love tea (both hot or iced), but like it for the caffeine...therefore, black, not herbal.

Enjoy your lobster. It's something I've never acquired a taste for.

    1. Thanks. I've never had it at home, I think.

The herbal is in lieu of coffee. I have green tea and black tea but it would only be switching the source :-).

  3. Lobster sounds like a good New Year's meal--better than our southern traditions of black-eyed peas cooked with ham-hocks, greens and corn bread. Enjoy.

    1. I'll be honest with you, the older I get the less inclined I am to eat anything that I haven't made myself. People have gotten too darn cute in their manupilation of the food source for the sake of money.
When you say ham hocks, are you speaking about the bottom bit or the full ham ?.

  4. You think the UK will actually ban Trump from entering the country? If only.

    1. No way, they'd be fearful it would have the other effect. That of handing him the White House.
