  2. Wow! What fun. Of course, I've only looked regionally so far. But to see how things have changed is SO interesting. What a great resources.
I thought about you and Ireland while flossing my teeth this morning. :) I opened up a new package of dental floss. The store didn't have my regular brand this weekend so I bought Oral B. When I turned the package over to unwrap it I saw "Made in Ireland" stamped on the bottom. Who'd have thunk it?

    1. I looked to Butte first, then Oregon and then LA county, and Delta county Colorado. I'm going to view the industrial north next. There's a strange mission drift for you have the industrial in the farming.

Hmm. You really tend not to hear flossing used in general conversation, here or the UK. The term took a serious veer off the path sometime around 2000. Sooooo, I laughed-spluttered so much I had nose coffee.

    2. Ha! Well, I'm glad it was good for a laugh, anyhow. But I'm curious, whatever does the term mean over there?!? ;)

    3. If you've survived this long without figuring it out I'm not going to be the one to muss-up such innocence, :-D.

    4. Well, I can surmise by your nose coffee. I hope I didn't offend your delicate sensibilities with my talk of dental hygiene!!! ;)

    5. (chuckle) Nope. And I don't for the life of me remember why that term changed. But it must be something from a fairly innocent film like Clueless.
And going off that word. You'd not believe how long it was between hearing about a whale-tail and actually knowing what it was when I first saw one. As you know our climate could be blamed, since it's a brave lassy goes round exposing her lowerback from Sept to June.

  3. What a fascinating site! There's not a lot in my area, but I enjoyed checking out a few other places. I'll definitely share this with my "historian" daughter.

    1. Every year you get a sprinkling of these photos coming out in some publications. But the sheer numbers here is magnificent. And not just the TVA or the dust bowl refugees.
Wasn't it amazing the numbers that had cars.
