Moving on, a bit.

There's a lag that I don't quite understand since I'm tied to the PC by wire. I'd understand if was over WiFi. Well I'd get it more anyway.
There's something odd sitting in the memory, the RAM that is, for there's 4gig and that should be ample to run any darn thing on it's own.
By far the most interesting thing is the blend. If you note the sky on the left, there are about five different blues blended in. I think it will take about a month to get it to the point where things are 'fine'. And a year, for excellent.

  1. Whenever I get lag on the computer with any program, I check what else I have open and close it unless it needs to be open. Sometimes a quick restart is needed too. Sometimes your cache gets so full if you've had a lot open. You work with such large files in your photos, it could be the culprit?
Yep, a way of blending color is lost on me right now. I've found some tutorials that I've saved to look at that show how to do it with blending brushes in AI. I've not looked much at it yet since I'm trying to grasp some more basic things right now, but I wonder if your program offers something similar?

    1. I think it's the security program. Well, I'm working off that notion anyway, and so uninstalled it and put on another. There was something gimp about the feel of the thing for a week or more.

What I've yet to find is the pressure flow to increase the density and volume. That's the next quest !.

  2. Press Control-Alt-Delete and then start Task Manager. Click on the Processes tab and see what exactly is gumming up the works. Security programs were notorious for doing this but lately they've been getting pretty good. Most now have a quick link to turn them off when you are working offline and need more computing power. Personally, I wouldn't buy a computer with less than 8 gigs of RAM and would shoot for 16 gigs. Since RAM is so cheap, software writers don't write efficiently like they did back in the day and programs can tie up lots of memory.

    1. It was bloody chrome. I'd forgotten just what a hog that greedy little browzer it is. I had it pinned to the taskbar, and idle it was chomping up two gig in twelve different processes. 12 !!!!.

  3. I use Chrome and don't notice any problems so I went and checked out Chrome on the Processes tab in Task Manager. I did see I had quite a few different processes going for Chrome but only one seemed to be actively using CPU memory. It did have quite a bit of memory marked out in something called the (Private Working Set) but mine only had about 250 MB set aside. I'm not quite sure what that even means. I wonder if you have some add on's in your Chrome browser that are hogging the memory through Chrome. I have all mine turned off and the only Extension I have on is my virus protection software.
